Practical Labs offered by the IFS are presented in C@MPUS as "Praktische Laborübungen".

Automotive Powertrain Systems

Four certificates must be acquired from the range of specialisation subject tests.

  • You will receive the documents for the labs via ILIAS 
  • Registration period summer semester: 01.04. - 30.04.
  • Registration period winter semester: 01.10. - 31.10.
  1. Please bring the certificate form with you to the experiments and have the experiment leader certify your successful participation.
  2. Please send the complete certificate form by email to the chair`s office or present the original form during office hours.
  3. Submit the fully signed test certificate form to the examination office for the final booking of credit points.

Automotive Mechatronics

Four certificates must be acquired from the range of specialisation lab courses.

  • Practical lab "Energiemanagement" [C@MPUS-No. 420522800] -> one certificate
  • Practical lab "Hardware-in-the-Loop: Motorsteuergerät" [C@MPUS-No. 420523100]
    -> one or two certificates
  • Practical lab "Harwarenahe Softwareentwicklung" [C@MPUS-No. 420522900]
    -> two certificates

Note: The Practical lab "Hardware-in-the-Loop: Motorsteuergerät" can optionally be completed with either one or two certificates. Please inform Mr. Dipl.-Ing. Christian Wirth during your Entry Level Meeting which option you would like to choose.

  1. 20 Min Entry-Level Test (your basic understanding of the subject you have chosen is tested in written form)

  2. The preliminary questions are a preparation for your self-dependent performance of the practical exercises.
    (only for "Energiemanagment" and "Hardware-in-the-Loop: Motorsteuergerät")

  3. Elektromobilität / Hardwarenahe Softwareentwicklung
    You will solve given tasks using PC, pen an paper
    Hardware-in-the-Loop: Motorsteuergerät
    You will work self-dependently in very small groups, performing measurements on a nearly originally-built tests set-up. You will verify your results together with a student assistant.

  4. Only after you have successfully passed all the required practical labs, enter the test dates and names in your summary sheet.
    Then drop off the sheet in the letterbox to the left of the entrance to the IFS chair`s office.
    You can also hand it in at reception or send it by post to the following address:

    We will certify the completed experiments and then forward the summary sheet to the IFS chair`s office.

Automated and Connected Driving

Case 1:
First specialization is Automated and Connected Driving.
Second specialization is not Automotive Mechatronics.
Select your labs from the range of Automotive Mechatronics.

Case 2:
First specialization is Automated and Connected Driving.
Second specialization is Automotive Mechatronics.

  • You must complete all lab courses offered within the Automotive Mechatronics specialization (five certificates).
  • You must complete one specialization lab course each from the Vehicle Powertrain Systems and Automotive Engineering offerings (two certificates in total).
  • The remaining required lab course may be freely chosen from either Vehicle Powertrain Systems or Automotive Engineering (one certificate).

Four certificates must be acquired from the range of specialisation subject tests.

  • Aeroacoustic (C@MPUS-No. 420606900)
  • Outside Noise Measurement (C@MPUS-No. 420607000)
  • Vehicle-Test Bench [offered only during the summer semester] (C@MPUS-No. 420607100)
  • Model Wind Tunnel (C@MPUS-No. 420607200)
  • Road Simulation (C@MPUS-No. 420607300)
  • Practical Exercise Vehicle Dynamics [offered only during the winter semester](C@MPUS No. 420606600) -> three certificates

  • Registration from Monday, the first weed of lectures (!), while places are available. 
  • Attention! Individual labs can be fully booked within a very short time!
