This chair is dedicated to researching sustainable propulsion solutions for future mobility concepts. The focus lies on alternative, electric, and hybrid propulsion systems and their components – including the use of sustainable energy carriers such as hydrogen and synthetic fuels.
The research emphasizes energy efficiency, system integration, and the dynamic operating behavior of these systems. Additional topics include low-emission energy conversion, the design of suitable operating strategies, and the acoustic, energetic, and thermal optimization of the overall system. The research follows the principle of always considering mechanical, electrical, and thermal components and subsystems in their functional context.
