This chair investigates the physical foundations for designing future vehicle concepts. Main research areas include aerodynamics, wind tunnel technology, acoustics/NVH, vehicle dynamics, tire management, and complete vehicle thermal management.
The research combines theoretical and experimental analyses, including driver behavior modeling and the study of the influence of new vehicle architectures. Numerical simulations are integrated with experiments in state-of-the-art wind tunnels and realistic test bench environments.
